We are proud to say we now have a place where drum students and visitors can see, hear, feel and enjoy drum history in Winnie's Drumkit, NDSM-Werf, Amsterdam. Here are some pictures of vintage drums on display today. Contact me for visits.

THE AMSTEL BACK ROOM
Some pictures of the old backroom appartment from where we started collecting. This is downtown Amsterdam 3rd floor, no elevator.
Feb 2006, 2 new arrivals in the collection.
A Blue Croco and a Silver Croco Trixon Telstar from the '60s.
The conical shells are made of beech and are covered with what looks like aluminum but it is a sort of plastic foil backed with linnen. 
November 2005, we just added an industrial look to get higher and stock more drums.
In the upper left corner there is a Royal, Made In Amsterdam, drum set in white marine pearl, calfskin heads and original bassdrum logo.
1937 Trap set with Leedy Temple blocks, Premier Trap tray, Leedy Cowbells,
Leedy Triangle, Leedy Broadway Snare drum
and Premier 28 inch Bass drum. A. Zildjian paper thin cymbals,
the canvas covers and vulcanized fibre cases, sticks and Leedy "turtle bakelite" brushes.

What a job Mr. Ludwig and Mr. Slingerland did! Makes it hard to decide what set to take to the next gig. For hardware I go for Push-Button Floor Tom legs, Ray McKinley Rail Consolette and a 1-ply snare with a ZooMatic Strainer. Ray McKinley (BDP) is one of the coolest drummers ever and nothing beats a Radio King. But the Ludwig are cool too :)

20 inch bassdrum with double disappearing spurs.
Tom toms, 13 & 16 inch have top and bottom knob mufflers,
factory original and they look cool too!
1958 Midnight Blue Gretsch 24, 13, 16 + 14. Almost too beautiful condition to gig, but you shoud hear the toms sing and that big 24 bassdrum!
Gladstone Practise Pad and Slingerland 12 x 15 '50s Chicago snaredrum in mahogany.
